Well I haven't been a great blogger as of late...

I go through periods of time that I just don't have either anything to say or any motivation to type anything.

A lot has been going on though. We moved to a new place... a smaller place!

Its only 2 bedrooms and a lot less storage!! But its in a good city so we dont have to worry about school for the kids. And the rec center is in walking distance which will be great in the summer time! Its coming along nicely. We are all adjusting to the smaller space and the kids to sharing a room.

What else is going on....???

Oh, Im going to be registering Jack for preschool soon!!!! I can't believe he's going to be going to school already!!! Where did my baby go?! :(

I think thats about it... I will try to update more often and once the new place is set up I will post pics!

The other day (the 28th) was my daughters birthday....

She turned 3!!! THREE!!

I cant believe how fast they are growing up!!

(this is not a rare sight! She does this often, we have learned to not fight it!)

We decorated our house for Christmas!!!

Oh how I love this time of year!!

The lights, the music, the scents, the memories...

EVERYTHING!!

Here's my beautiful Nativity set... You cant tell from the picture but there is a garland & I added pine cones

Here are the kids stockings.... & a wreath I just finished making!

I used an extra stocking and cut it up to use the fabric to cover the top half and I had a bunch of little ornaments that I hot glued to the bottom. I used the bells from the stocking and glued those to some ribbon. The Merry Christmas sign was a $1 ornament from Walmart I picked up earlier.

I really LOVE the way it turned out!!And that is pretty much only cost me a $1.... seeing as I had most of the items on hand! Gotta love that!

And here are my kids.... aren't the adorable!!

On Sunday we had the kids 3rd & 4th birthday parties!

It was SO much fun!

I made the birthday banner, all the leaf decorations, as well as the cup cake toppers that topped the yellow, chocolate and carrot cup cakes I made! I forgot to get a picture of the favors, but I made recycled

crayons, and gave noise makers and glow bracelets! They were given in a leaf stamped paper lunch bag tied off with twine and a tag that said "Thanks so much!"

Brownies I cut out into leaves with a cookie cutter!

CUP CAKES!!!

It may not look like it... but this was complete chaos!!!

I felt like I was being attacked by toys, gift wrap and children!!!

She was to shy to say thank you to everyone

I read this in the latest issues of Real Simple and I completely agree with it... word for word!

I absolutely love winter time and everything that comes with!

The first snow has always been a very special time for me.

I always feel soooo happy to see it and know that soon it will cover the earth.

I am very excited for winter to come this year and to decorate our home with beautiful Christmas decorations. But first we need to get the kids birthday party over with and then Thanksgiving and then its no holds bar!!! :)

So Ive been away for a bit... well not away, but more like absent.

I have still been creeping around the blog world just not really in the mood to share lately I guess...

but here's what our world has been looking like...

The kids and I went to Newport, RI to surprise my sister with a visit!

It is a beautiful place but its off season so a lot is closed which makes it not so fun for the kiddos.

We went Trick or Treating...

We made a "Thankful for..." tree...

This was very entertaining for me and the kids..

Jack is thankful for things like: his toys ( he listed each one!), sea creatures, and for his ABC's.

Emily is thankful for things like: butterflies, all her things, owls, and Target.

Daddy would have been up there as much as I would have let them pick him... but I made them pick different things for each leaf.

This was soo much fun and we will be doing this years to come!!

Well those are just a few things that have been going on around here... nothing spectacular.

I'm pooped!

This week has been such a long one!!!

The kids and I drove to Rhode Island to surprise my sister with a visit.

She lives in Newport... which is beautiful!!

I wish I had gotten more pictures but it didn't work out.

Oh well...

it was hard to leave my husband for that long.

I haven't been away from him in about 6 years! And the kids have never been away!

It was hard!

Speaking of my hubby, he's been working a horrible shift at work 7 pm-7 am!!!!

AWFUL!

Last night we went to Boo at the Zoo! Every year since I can remember the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo hosts an event for kids to come and enjoy the Halloween season and not be scared! And the adults love it too! Ive never liked Halloween time... I think its scary and I hate scary!!! But now that I'm a mom its fun... we get to dress up and do fun stuff like Boo at the Zoo!

OK lets start this bad luck post by saying... I'm trying SOO hard to not be a puddle on the floor!

Where to start... about 2 or 3 weeks ago...

Emily had been itching her head... A LOT!

So of course I take a look at it and see NOTHING! (or at least that's what I thought!)

So we changed her shampoo and stopped using conditioner and stopped using the de-tangler spray thing maybe it was all bothering her scalp. STILL ITCHING!

I have my mom look at her, Rob looks at her, Robs aunt looks at her... they say they see nothing.

So about 2 weeks go by and of course I'm still trying to figure out why shes itching and what is the source of the itching....

We go out to lunch and I'm sitting next to Em. I look over at her and my eye gets caught by this movement on her head... her hair was up in pig tails... it was a bug! A BUG!!! So I take it off and show my husband who says "That's lice." Like he was saying pass the salt!

LICE!!!!!!!

Ive never had lice or seen it or known anyone with it!!

And my little girl has been walking around with it for 2 weeks!

TWO WEEKS!!!!!

Talk about feeling like an AWFUL mom!!!

So I freaked a lot!

We all went to the doctors and they gave us an RX for this strong stuff that smelled like it could kill a cat. We put the smelly stuff on our heads for 12 hours!!! And began ripping our home apart to clean and clean and clean some more!!!

Its been a week since then... and no sign of any lice or nits.

And believe me Ive been checking!!

Like 10 times a day!

I seriously feel so horrible about this!

So they day after we find out we have lice is a Friday and Robs at work and I'm home with the kids like any other normal day... I'm trying to do the mountain of laundry we have now from yesterdays cleaning (the sad part was that I was 1 basket away from being done with all the laundry on Thursday!)

The kids were being sooo crabby so I said it was nap time... of course they didn't sleep and they kept coming out of their rooms saying they were hungry so I made them what they wanted and they eat none of it!!

NONE! AARRGG!!

OK wait back up a little...

While I was making this lunch they didn't eat Emily said she had to go potty... I told her to go ahead and I would be in in a second, she does and then I hear Jack say "Emily pooped on the bathroom floor!"

SIGH!

I go to the bathroom and see she had pooped in her pants and didn't tell me so she got it all over the place when she went to sit on the toilet :(

So I cleaned it up, cleaned her up and threw her clothes in the washer...

OK back to lunch

The kids AREN'T eating it! And Jack is talking about how he pooped in his pants and blah blah blah... I know another bad mom moment but I was on the verge of losing it anyways! I told him that I didn't know what he was talking about! In the meantime the laundry is ready to be switched so I go to the laundry room which is right off the kitchen and start switching the loads... and the more clothes I take out of the washer the more it smells like poop!

And I get most of the "clean" clothes into the dryer and see two small nuggets ... I pick one up not knowing what it was (DUH! right!?) ...

well you guessed it POOP!

I lost it!!

I yelled "Who pooped in the washer!!!?!!"

Like someone really would have taken a dump in the washer! LOL!

But Jack replies "I told you I pooped in my pants Mom!"

SIGH!

So I clean out the washer and re-wash the clothes.

I tell the kids to go lay back down and really take naps this time! They go while I clean up the lunch they didn't eat.

OK about an hour goes by and I go to check on them... I go to Jacks room and it smells like poop!!!!!

I walk in and ask him if he farted, he said "No I told you I pooped my pants!" and he points to the corner of his room... he has a hiding spot between the wall and the dresser and he changed his underwear and shoved them in there!!! I made him go sit on the potty while I took care of the mess and I checked hi butt to wipe it... but there was no poop!?!?!? I asked him how he was clean and he pointed to his rug...........

Seriously!!!

WHY?!?!!

I was soooo MAD!

I cleaned him up and then took all his toys out of his room for that! I seriously took EVERYTHING OUT! I felt so bad :(

So Ive made it through this week mostly bad luck free, a free things nothing big... until this morning!

Jack comes out of his room this morning and I asked him why he was wearing different clothes and he goes into this long talk about his dad and the potty and honestly it didn't make any sense! So I went to his room and in his hiding spot were his clothes that he had taken off and then pee'd on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY?!?!

I really don't understand why he is doing this... he has been potty trained for almost a year and has never had so many accidents as he has had in the last couple of months!

Whelp, Emily comes out of playing with Jack and says she pooped in her pants... I clean her up go to put the dirty clothes in the washer and see that I forgot to start the dryer and that the clothes in the washer are soaking wet! :(

Why oh why?!?!

I feel like my insides are gonna explode!!!

Oh and the kids and I are going to Rhode Island next week without Rob (this is the first time they will be away from him and only the second time in 6 years that I will) this doesn't seem like a huge deal but my kids are seriously attached to their daddy and when he goes to work they act like he's never coming back!

I'm not sure how I will survive next week without him...

Hopefully my bad luck wont follow me there!

Today was my moms birthday!

We got the family together and went out to dinner and then back to my sisters house for cake... it was a really nice time!

Anyways, there's not much going on...

I decided to not clean my house at all today and instead I read Linger

It is the second in Stiefvater's series. The first, Shiver, was really good and I was SO excited to read Linger that I read it in about 1 day! My hubby got it for my sweetest day gift... cause he's awesome and knows what I love! :)

My next read is in Lauren Kate's series. I read Fallen awhile back and cant wait to get my hands on Torment!

I made a Fall wreath from items I already had and a few dollar store buys.

I love it!!!!!

I had gotten the leaves from a friend for free awhile back, the mushroom is actually for the garden but it broke so I re purposed it! The flowers and wreath I got at the dollar store today and the ribbon I had!!

I'm soo happy with how it turned out!

I've been off line for awhile and to say I was totally fine would be a lie! I have been jonesing for some blog time!

Life is changing with the changing weather...

My dad is possibly getting a new job in Massachusetts, which would mean my parents would move there of course!

That's a huge change for us... we spend quite a bit of time with my mom and at her house. Emily is very attached to her!!

I'm not ready to deal with that heart break :(

Also, we have to prepare to move out of our house in March...

which is OK and blah.

We need to move to a location that is affordable for our one income and with good schools. We have a place in mind that would work for both requirements... BUT... I just don't really want to move there. Many reasons... but ultimately we will do whats right for our family.

Well, not much else to report.

Sorry for not blogging so much lately.

I'll try to keep up... but this weather draws me outside and keeps me busy crafting with the kids.

I love this time of year like people love the summer!

And guess what I love the winter even more :)

Ive seen on a couple other blogs

that they are telling the story

of how they met their other halves...

Well here's mine :)

OK... where to begin?

Hmmm...

Well, lets just put it out there... I was married before.

So Rob is my second husband.

I got married to my first husband right before I turned 21...

it wasn't the best decision I made, but I don't regret it.

Shortly after I married my 1st I knew it wasn't forever... I knew it before that but was to young and naive to know what I was feeling. I left to go live with my sister and her husband in North Carolina about 6 months into out marriage and stayed for about 5 months... we were only married 1 year and 23 days... I don't know why I remember that?

OK, onto the good stuff!

When I left for North Carolina I had no friends... only my sister and her husband, they both worked so I was left on my own... I was BORED!!!

So I signed up for one of those awful dating sites at the urging of a friend back home. I thought this is silly and ridiculous! Real love and commitment is not on here!

So I met a few of the guys that contacted me from there... there was NOTHING!

No connection, no feeling, not even the thought of talking to them after our "date" ended!

So in the meantime I moved back home to Ohio.

Tried to rebuild my life... I even tried to "fix" my marriage (which I was still in!! I know... judge me if you want!) But I quickly realized there is no amount of fixing that would fix that! So I told my ex husband that I was young and had a chance at happiness and I was going to take it... he should too!

I filed for a divorce... one of the hardest things I ever did... surprisingly.

Remember that website I signed up for...the one where you cant find true love on... well I had forgotten about it... and one night I was bored, so I thought "Hey why not!"

I was browsing through all the guys... there was really weird guys, OK guys, not so OK guys... and then there was Rob.

He had a picture of himself with one of his friends (the best man in our wedding)

I remember his profile... it was different and to me seemed true and real!

True and real was something I didn't seem to find on there.

So I contacted him.

He was the only one I ever contacted.

We talked online for a bit.

And he sent me his phone number.

He told me that he didn't think I would ever call him... but I did!!!

We talked for HOURS!!!!

We wanted to meet... but lets not forget I was still married!

I refused to meet him until I was officially separated from my ex.

It seemed important to me! Like a fresh start... where I have nothing "tainting" my new relationships.

So 3 days after I got divorced we meet for a movie ( Good Company) and then went to dinner (Denny's! LOL!) I remember the first time I saw him and what he was wearing!!!

My first thought was "He's tall!" (He's 6'5)

So we watched the movie, and went to Denny's... we laughed and had an amazing time!

Rob has told me that he knew that night that I was gonna be special! :)

We talked every night. Saw each almost every night!

But I didn't want to rush into anything... I mean come on I just ended a serious relationship... I was damaged goods! But he didn't give up!!

We had plans to go to an 80's night at a bar with a bunch of his friends, but first we went to some recital for a co-workers daughter (random I know!) on the way there he kept drawing a heart and then dotting it in the middle on m leg... I thought it was the cutest thing I have ever seen a guy do!

I knew then he loved me!!

And because I, like him, make jokes... I remember saying something along the lines of "You love me! You wanna have babies with me! You wanna marry me!" hahahh... so mature!

He laughed and smiled at me.

So the night went on... we went to the 80's night and he started to introduce me to friends I had not meet

"This is my FRIEND Ashleigh."

I thought... hey I want to be more then friend, I want to be your girlfriend!! So I said it to him! And he said... well I don't remember what he said specifically! But it was probably something like FINALLY!

We have been together ever since... we have never broken up, we have been stable and sure!

He's my bff ... lol!!!

Honestly... he's everything to me!

Went to a bachelorette party last night.

Ive come to realize that I am an old woman!!!

That kinda fun does not appeal to me any more.

My husband and I don't drink so I felt outta place while they

were jugging away and doing shot after shot.

Oh well... I went and stayed what I felt was a good amount of time to not seem rude..

then I came home and read books and played with my little girl (who had a late nap so stayed up till 12am!)

I haven't tried it out yet, but I'm pretty excited to try it out!

Emily is a pretty good eater, although she doe shy away from veggies.

Jack is a HORRIBLE eater!!! He only really eats chicken nuggets, cheese and bread!

He just recently started eating baby carrots with ranch dip!

That was a huge step!!

I have big hopes for this book!!

Well, I figured while I'm sitting at my moms and the kids are bus watching Wall-e I would do my What I Wore post!! Yay ahead of schedule!!!

So I have a question to ask any moms out there...

My son (who will turning 4 on November 8th)

He has been bringing up

Death!

Seriously!

He keeps asking my husband and myself about dying...

him dying

us dying

he's serious about this!

He's FOUR!!!

I don't know how to feel about this... if its a natural question to ask at 4 years old?

We tell him that everyone dies that Gods needs you with him at a point in time.

We tell him that when we die he will be older and have a family of his own...we feel he worries that he will be left all along.

That when he dies he will be old.

OK... I'm very emotional about this, how do you feel when your son comes to you and says he doesn't want to die crying?!!? I try not to cry and scare him!

I feel sadden and worried that my little boy is soo worried about dying when he's biggest worry should be nap time!

Its also kinda scary to think he thinks about this... like he knows something we don't know... that's was harder to type then anything!!!

I pray to God every day!

I pray for my family and myself.

I pray I am strong enough to help my son through this... whatever it is.

If there are any parents out there that have ANY advice I would greatly appreciate it!!

Today is our 1 year wedding anniversary!!!

We got a card at our wedding shower from one of Robs cousin who is about 14

in the card he wrote

"Rob farts Ashleigh laughs!"

We laugh soo much!!!

I love my husband.

He is a big bear that LOVES with his whole heart!!!

He loves making everyone laugh!!!

He's the strongest man I know...emotionally and physically!

I love that he makes me chicken wings at 12am the day of my birthday

because he knows I LOVE them!

That he would give me two of the most wonderful children any mom could ever want!

We have cried and laughed.

We have loved and been mad.

We have struggled and been slightly above struggling (hahah!)

We have done everything together since the day we met (pretty much!)

And I plan on doing everything for the rest of our lives together.

We will always be there for each other... no matter what!

Till the end!

And when we are at that old folks home just sittin' side by side and he farts...

This long weekend has flown by!

We put up a HUGE pool in my parents back yard... just in time for Fall!

I made some cute ice cream cone cupcakes!

Apple Caramel Cake

Serves 15 to 20

2 1/2 cups sugar

3 eggs

1 1/2 cups vegetable oil

3 cup all purpose flour

2 tsp vanilla

1 cup chopped walnuts

2 1/2 cups diced apples, canned or fresh

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together sugar, eggs, and oil. Add flour; mix together until well blended. Add vanilla, nuts, and diced apples. Spread into a lightly greased and floured 13x9- inch baking dish; bake for 45 to 60 minutes. Cake is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. When cake is done, punch holes in it with a knife and pour topping over.

Caramel Topping

3/4 pound (3 sticks) butter

2 cups brown sugar

1/4 cup milk

Heat all ingredients together over medium heat. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Let boil for about 2 minutes. Pour over warm cake.

Note: I did NOT like this cake. I was looking for something cake-y and fall-ish.

This was soggy and ... well just not to my liking.

But please try it out.

Sorry I haven't been posting very well lately. I've been keeping busy!

I made this FAKE terrarium from dollar store items!!!

I LOVE IT!!

Today I've been reorganizing my craft nook... and when that happens I usually end up crafting in the process!

Here's my cute little owl made out of one of those thin wood $1 finds from Joann's.

It had an owl printed on it that you color in...

well I tried that and didn't like it.

So I painted it brown and then used some vintage clip on earrings as the eyes and piece of fabric for the mouth and recycled paper for the belly detail.

Added a little ribbon to the top and voila!

Ive been a busy little crafter/decorator today!

I hung these cute little bird houses that I painted and attached ribbon too.

I think I will add more later.

Remember the post about a week ago with all the pom poms and the mess...

well here is what we made them for!

My friend Erica had her bridal shower over the weekend and it turned out soo nice!

I helped her hang all the pom poms and lanterns and do a few other decor things.

Sorry this picture is so blurry, but I had to share it! There's my daughter, my best friend (she pinky promised!)

She's grumpy so we are making sad faces.

My kids and I both have been having a hard time with me going to work. Don't get me wrong I like to help with the money (even though if you read my last post you see I probably cause more trouble then help) and getting out of the house with adults is nice too. But more and more and more often its becoming harder to leave my babies. They don't like and I don't like it.

So (hopefully! fingers crossed!) I will be quiting my job for either a very small part time position or just staying home again. I miss being a stay at home mommy. The house was clean, laundry put away, kids happy and always learning something. Right now the house is NEVER clean (seriously! never clean!) laundry is never done ( I don't even know where tomorrows pair of under wear are gonna come from... its that bad!!!) when I get home I'm to tired or stressed to sit down and be able to stay clam and collected to teach my kids something ( that sounds awful as I type it, but I'm trying to be honest) I feel like my life is: wake up, shower, get ready for work in a hurry, wake kids up, get kids ready to go to my moms for the day in a hurry, usually forgetting my lunch or to eat breakfast, get to work, hate work all day long (that's an entirely different post!), go home, try to have energy to clean, husband makes dinner (thank God he likes to cook!!!), get kids ready for bed, mindless Internet time, go to bed and get ready to do it all over again. See nothing productive, enjoyable or enlightening in that kind of day!!! So I'm hoping that things work out (soon!) so that I will be able to stay home full time with the kiddos.

So there's not much to write {which is happening more and more these days}. I went shopping the other night and bought a really cute yellow top for $3! And a pair of shoes to go with my new F21 purchase {which is due to come on Monday!!! So excited!!} Yea so I spent like $36... guess what?! I over drew our account!!! AAHHH sweet Internet!

I have been going through withdraw!

The charger for my lap top broke so I couldn't use that at home. Then state was here for the state survey so of course I had to actually work! {UGH!} And then today I get to work late {BAD CHOICE!} to find out that the power was out... like completely out!! It didn't come back on till about 20 mins ago! And my phone was completely dead because I didn't charge it last night.

But the good news is the power came back on at work so I'm charging my phone and I can get online as well. AND the charger for my laptop came in the mail!

So this is just a short post saying I will be posting more later!

I just ordered this dress online from Forever 21 for a friends wedding in October.

I seriously can not wait to get this in the mail!!

I really really REALLY hope it's fits good, I've never gotten anything from the store and aren't so sure about sizing and fit. But there was free shipping and I had to take the chance. Well today is my day off! But I didn't sit around.. oh no! I cleaned my daughters bedroom {where I take my photos}. So I cleaned her room, laid her down for a nap, checked on her, she did not nap and her room was a mess!!! Why bother?!?!!?

But my sister in law has saved me! She is watching both the kids so I can go to Canton {an hour and a half away} to go dress shopping with my friend for her wedding!!!

So I had such a hard time getting dressed this morning!!! I couldn't decide what to wear and once I had an idea I went back and forth between leggings no leggings!!! So now I'm sitting at work looking at this picture (yea, I know I'm supposed to be working!) thinking I should have worn the leggings!! Oh well!

OK, I have discovered Faith 21... its a plus size extension of Forever 21!!!! I was sooooooooo pumped to find this store!!! My husband told me I can order a few pieces next week or the week after... but I really want to get a tattoo soon so I might hold off... even though I drool every time I look at all the clothing!!

OK... well I guess I have to work :(

So, I feel like a bad blogger! I haven't really written anything with my picture posts. But to my defense I've been bogged down with work and the house and family! Even now I'm kinda at a loss of what to write...

Well, I've been doing pretty good with my outfit posts. I feel like my style is improving... slightly!

I am trying... really I am. I just cant shake the mom/old-hag/frump feeling! Plus my lack of a fashion budget doesn't really allow for me to build a wardrobe. Oh well... time! Its all I need! And also... I've been thinking about losing some weight!!!!!! I really need to for healthy reasons, but the reason I want to is so I can wear the clothes I like and feel good in them! LOL! I'm not vain at all!!!! hahah! Oh well!

Oh, the 30 day Challenge is over :( The challenge is over but I haven't finished all the pages yet! Of course I haven't! Me on time... never!!! But I really loved this project and plan on continuing journaling like this!

And if anyone is a reader... do you have any book suggestions for me the summer? I like mostly fiction.

Well, I kinda slacked a little with outfit posts or any posts for that. I was off Monday and Tuesday and had tons of problems! Our plumbing wasn't working so we couldn't do laundry or even dishes! We ended up staying at my moms one night... the most awful night of sleep ever!! But it's all fixed and we are sleeping in our own beds!! YAY!

So here's my outfit for today! I got this cute dress from Target! My favorite store on EARTH! heheh... so favorite I was even at Target when my water broke with my daughter! Thats another post though!

When I went home for lunch I did a quick outfit photo... its blurry bad and hurried! I'm not really comfy in my outfit today. The skirts to tight and the pockets keep poking out. Tonight we are going to an annual July party... ever since we had kids it's just not the same. I feel old when I go! And every year the kids get younger and younger! Im not a fan of teenagers! LOL! They annoy me most of the time... even though I was one not that long ago!
